Things I LOVE about Summer time!

Now that I have kids I seriously have gone back to loving Summer like I did when I was a kid! I just get so excited for the girls to wake up from nap time so we can go be outside in the warm sunshine, and play on bikes, and eat Popsicle's and watermelon! YEA! And as soon as our pool opens, we will be in it no doubt just about everyday! I just have so many fond memories of being a kid, and a lot of the best memories include summer time! My sister, little brother and I use to play for hours on end in our sandbox growing up, we would fill it with water and play play play. Riding bikes all day! Bryn I don't remember how old we were but I think for one summer straight you could find us on our bikes everyday! Night games! Oh I loved night games so much, good times:). Disney Land was a summer vacation we did about every summer, and I still love it! Any who as I started writing this post I thought it would be fun to post some pics of me from when I was younger of summer activities, these are not flattering pictures but hope you enjoy!

This was at Del Coronado Beach! I love that place, and I loved this trip because it was just me my mom and my sister so much fun!

5K run and a new hair cut!

So this last Saturday Nathan and I went and ran the 5K, actually walked would better describe what we did :). I am not going to lie I probably would not attempt that again with 2 kids waking them up at 6:30 in the morning but all in all it was fun, and such a beautiful day out! YEA for Spring time!! Becca and Rachel were really good sports about it, up until the end of the race they sat pretty still and happy in the stroller eating snack:). Can I tell you how excited I am getting for warm weather!? I'M SO EXCITED! I said it now I feel much better WEW! Seriously though what a happy time of year. I was at Walmart grocery shopping the other day and spotted a watermelon, and I just about cried. Anyway I also decided to chop my hair shorter the other day and I love it! It's fun to have a change, plus I could not take one more day of blow drying my hair with it being as long as it was. Well anyway here are a few pics from our weekend.

Easter

So on Easter Sunday Nathan had to go out of town:( at like noon. So the morning was a bit crazy for us trying to get ready for church getting Nathan packed, breakfast blah blah blah. My parents and brother Alex came over for Dinner, so the girls opened baskets then. I had an Easter egg hunt all planned out for the girls, I was so excited to do this for them. I was thinking I was so smart hiding the eggs a few days before in a spot I think Becca will not find them....Little did I know! Turns out Becca knew all along where I had kept the eggs before I was going to put them out! I walk into the kitchen to find Becca getting all the eggs out and going to hide them...What? I though that was my job? Oh well! She had so much fun hiding and finding the eggs then doing it all over again (the rest of the day). These are just a few pics from the day.

A typical week

Our weeks and days are the same usually, and I like it that way. I have come to love so many things about being a mom. I love being home with the girls. We wake up in the morning to Becca having already changed her outfit 3 times with different dresses (she is obsessed with dresses). She then goes and plays quietly in her room till Rachel wakes around 7:45, and that is when we wake up for the day. We make breakfast (we are not cereal people). Nathan goes to work, the girls and I play in the front room while I then clean up breakfast mess. Rachel goes down for a 1st nap. While Rachel snoozes the times away Becca and I usually put together a puzzle or she reads books. I try to get a load of laundry in each day around this time also. Rachel wakes up, we like to have bath time around then or after her second nap. We make lunch, and play some more:). Girls both go down for an afternoon nap, along with myself :) If I don't nap I like to clean or get comfy up on the couch and read or just sit and think (usually about decorating). When both girls wake up we like to go out if it's nice, or go to the store (I love Target). If we don't do either of those things we color, have snacks, maybe watch a movie while I make dinner and anticipate when daddy gets home. The girls get so excited when they hear that garage door open, they both go running for the door (Rachel crawls as fast as she can:) to see him, it is so cute! We eat dinner, put the girls to bed Rachel at 6, Becca around 7. Then Nathan and I talk or I will go run some errands. We usually talk, and clean the kitchen at some point:). And that sums up our most typical day. It probably sounds boring, but I have come to love it so much. I know that life will not always be this relaxed when the girls get older and get involved in sports, school etc... But for now I enjoy how my life is. And love these little girls so much, they make our life happy:) If you got this far in reading thank you. I am horrible lately at keeping a journal so for now this will have to work. Hot chocolate in April???

So Today Becca wanted to go outside. She has been really confused lately with all the snow we have been getting, and thinks Christmas must be here any minute! So I decide that we should make some hot chocolate since it's snowing and Becca has been outside in it. What is wrong with this!? I am all geared up for spring and sunshine, instead we are listing to Christmas tunes (thanks to Nathan:) and drinking hot cocoa. Oh well I guess I will just try to enjoy it while it is here, Spring should be around the corner any minute right? Oh wait no it must be Christmas I am the one confused here, Becca had it right haha. Well hope all of you are having a Merry Christmas and a Happy Easter week!

Rachel update

I took these pics the other day of our crazy Rachel baby! I love her hair in them because it's is crazy just like her little personality:). This is just a little update on what she is all about these days.

She is absolutely obsessed with plugs! If she finds a cord or anything else that looks like it will go into the plug, she will crawl far and wide (all over the house) until she finds the plug socket. And then throws a HUGE fit when it inevitably gets taken away from her by her mother:).

She loves taking baths. She thinks it is her own personally drinking fountain, and will not stop drinking it until I finally take her out. (yuck)

When she is being held (all the time because I am putty in her hands). She loves to look at your face and study it. She then will try and keep trying to poke your eyes out.

She loves to brush her own hair. When she comes into our bathroom she goes straight to the drawer with the brushes in them, and will proceed to brush away, and loves every minute of it:).

When served food she does not like, she will put her head down dramatically on the table and cry and cry until she we give her something worth eating in her opinion:). And will then smile hugely and throw her other food happily to the ground. (Stinker)

She it so much fun, and has become the new Queen of drama in our house hold! We love you little Ray Ray!

A Very Happy 5 Years!

Today is our 5 year Anniversary! And I just wanted to take a moment to share some heart felt cheesy feelings. Nathan, you are the BEST! You have made my life so much more then I ever thought it could or would be. You make me laugh even when I am mad at you. I can always be who I am around you with no question in my mind that you will love me no matter how weird I am, or how funny I dance (everyday:). You love to talk, and even though I am not always the best listener I am still amazed that you find me fascinating enough to want to talk to me as often as we do. I love how adoring you are of me and our little girls. You always take the time to tell me how beautiful I look, and truly mean it every time. Despite how bashful you get in front of me when you sing (admit it:) you have the most beautiful voice when you sing. You are such a good father to our sweet baby girls, and so patient and kind. You are my best best friend, and I am so happy that you feel the same way about me as I do you! I LOVE YOU BABE! The last 5 years have been wonderful, lets keep more coming.

Little Becca Girl

Just a few updates on Becca. Last Sunday we were informed that Becca had decided to take her clothes off in Primary, they apparently got quite a show. I am not sure how we are going to explain this one to Becca, that we keep clothes on, especially at church:). She also has really become quite bossy. I guess that is the natural roll the older sister must take on, a world that revolves around bossing her little sister around, and mom:). She has been potty trained now for a few months. I know we were kind of late on teaching her, but I just never felt like she was ready. I am happy to report though that she is diaper free even at night no pull ups. And has not wet the bed, not once. She did however on the first day of Primary make a HUGE puddle on the classroom floor. She has since learned to ask her teacher to take her to the bathroom. She calls the washing machine the dishwasher. And when her blanket goes missing (to be washed) will accuse me of putting her blanket in the dishwasher, and demand I give it back. When it snows Becca will come in our room in the morning and shout loudly that "It's chris mus YEA!!!" Then in contrast will tell me at least five times a day that she is off to the beach? I have no idea where she got this one, but it sounds wonderful to me! We love our Becca girl! Thanks for making life so interesting for us!:)

The Birthday Party!

Well Rachel obviously has no idea what a birthday is, but I am pretty sure she loved it! When she woke up in the morning we all came into her room (Nathan, Becca and I) and we sang happy birthday to her with the camera rolling. Then we had a big breakfast with eggs and pancakes. I didn't get any pictures of all the balloons and decorations I put up! But they were so cute:)! Then all of her party guessed arrived around 3. Brian and April Atwood even graced us all the way from Georgia with their new little bundle of joy. When it came time to blow out the candle Rachel was trying to eat the flame, maybe next year we will get it. She loved the cupcake, and I am sure wonders why this event does not take place everyday.

To my Rachel who turns the big 1 this week!

I am not sure who let this happen, but they are in BIG trouble with me!! My little baby is turning 1 this week! I can not begin to describe the joy she has brought into our lives. We call her our little Ray of sun, along with our little love BUG ;). She is so lovable and sweet! I wish you could see the way she adores her big sister. She lights up the second she sees her, and the legs starts kicking like crazy! She loves to be held, she comes crawling up to me all the time tugging on my leg for me to pick her up! How can you resist that? I LOVE LOVE YOU MY LITTLE RAY RAY! Thanks for letting me be your mother :) I will play Patty Cake, and peek a boo with you all day, everyday if you will just stay little forever okay?

Why am I so tired!!!

I seriously do not understand. Some might say well you have 2 kids, so Duh! But honestly they are pretty easy going kids. I know it does play some part in it, but probably a small part. I just need an energy booster! Do any of you have any great tips??? It couldn't possibly be the fact that I have been eating sugar like crazy! Ok yes that might be it:) I need help with that too! How do you make yourself stop eating sugar!?? I would love any wonderfilled advice because I am in desperate need ;) I am thinking of doing another cleanse maybe that would be a good kick start? Ok now I am just rambling, it's late and I'm tired. HA! I guess I need to go to bed sooner as well :)

50 with both! I was huge! I thought I should have at least gotten twins out it, my heavens!

I call myself tiger butt, because of the stripes on my behind :)

11. Did you crave anything crazy?

no, but with Becca everything smelled bad! Even yummy smells like vanilla! It was so sad, It made me want to throw up!

12. Who or what got on your nerves the most?

people chewing food loudly :)

13. Where were you when you went into labor?

with Becca- Our house
with Rachel- The hospital

14. Did you have any complications?

with Becca- No I just lost a lot of blood. When I stood up after having Becca to go to the bathroom for the first time, blood came pouring out of me like a waterfall. The nurse about flipped out, and Nathan almost passed out :)

with Rachel- I had a couple of things that all happened after the birth. I had a velumenous insertion and an acrete placenta. S0 basically the with the first one the umbilical cord was not attached to the placenta, it was hanging on by the blood vessels, so when the doctor went to tug on it to pull out the placenta it just fell off. So I just kept bleeding ( a lot). Then the second one the "acrete placenta" means that my placenta fell apart inside my uterus. The doctor had to litterally reach all the way into the uterus and fish out the brocken peices of the planenta so that I could stop bleeding (really wanted drugs at that point). Everything turned out ok but I did end up having to have a blood transfusion. (sorry for the details) imagine being there! Not pretty! But worth it :)

with Becca- on time
with Rachel- 3 weeks early

with Becca- Everyone! Nathan of course, my mom and dad and my mother inlaw. I actually liked having them there, it was such a neat experiance!

no but I actually Wish I would have.

20. Did you have any pain medication?

with both they gave me Phentinal (or how ever you spell it) It basically just relaxed you, it didn't take away any pain.

Natural with both

22. What was your reaction to the birth?

I was in love with both my baby girls!!!! And so glad the pain was over :)!!

Becca- 7lbs 1 oz
