This and That

So I am realizing I never did a post about Easter, so I have a few pictures on that. As I mentioned in our last post, we bought....chickens? Why you might ask? We decided we wanted our own organic eggs at the price of FREE! Well kinda free, we have to build the coop for them to live (I have pics of that process), and we had to buy the chickens, but all in all worth it I would say. We are also putting in a GARDEN!!! I am so excited!! Can you tell?? We have never had one before. We decided to do a box garden, and so far we have the box built, the soil, and the starts, now we just need to plant them. I can't wait to have yummy tomatoes out of that garden (assuming they grow, and I don't kill them;). Our Saturdays have been crazy from sun up to sun down lately working on these projects, but it is all worth it. And last but not least a quote of the week from Becca...

The cravings begin.....

 

I have been wanting very specific foods lately. And I have to eat what sounds good or I get nauseous. Some have been weird cravings like my sudden need today for oysters, I like oysters but it is not something I ever think to order. It also can't be just any oysters, I want Oysters Rockefeller...I know kinda weird. The other night I had to have Market Street Clam Chowder! Lucky for me they sell it at their front counter in already prepared containers to go. The other thing I want all the time is orange juice. We never buy juice, we just never really do, maybe once a year? So I finally bought some and I have found though that when I feel nauseous I drink OJ and the world is right again!TA DA! I grilled up a portobello mushroom the other day and put it on a sandwich with lettuce, cheese, pepper-cot jelly & mayo yummmmm (my mouth is watering again just thinking about it). The other day I went to Costco in search of deli pickles and kalamata olives. I'm sorry I know this post is boring, you are a saint if you read this. I just wanted to write down these weird cravings I have been having. Did I also mention be bought chickens??? Well we bought six living chickens that are currently in our back yard, I will write more on that in my next post...

A fact......

With my last 2 pregnancies I gained close to 50lbs....(huge sigh). I was asked all the time if I was carrying twins (no!!!!) I know with that much weight gain you should expect twins out of it, but no just no. This time I would like to try to gain oh lets say close to 30? I have introduced this new thing into my world called "working out" we will see if this helps:). It really doesn't help that I am hungry all the time either. I wake up in the morning just starved! I am sure I need to lay off the baking thing for a while (I say this while I am looking up yummy desserts on Bakerella). If any of you have any other wonderful tips I would gladly hear them PLEASE! I know the most important thing is a healthy baby above all, I just think 30lbs ought to be plenty, I mean honestly don't you think? I am done ranting now I just had to get that off my chest.  I am thrilled to have a new baby come to our home even if it does end up being a whopping 50 lbs again! The things we do for our children :)

We made a snow man in April?????

Yesterday it snowed all day long, I think we got a little over 6 inches. The girls and I attempted to make a snowman, or the snow woman (who looked like she could have joined the football team). We decided in honor of it being April 1st to put in cadburry chocolate eggs for the eyes and mouth, and a strawberry for the nose (or because we didn't have the carrots, and coal). Becca wanted a magic hat like off of frosty the snowman....she settled for a plastic cup instead:). Anyway here are a few pictures from the days events. Also I had to throw in one of Rachel eating some pudding, you will see why. First a few quotes from Becca.......

- I might be a swan for a lot of minutes mom.
- I do not like to eat fish (talking to her Nana) Nana replies with: Well sometimes we eat salmon. Becca: Yes I like salmon & bees make honey so we can eat peanut butter sandwiches.
- Becca was racing to get to the potty she started to go piddle before she was fully seated, and we hear her say to herself "that was close".

To answer a few questions from the last post. I know the stork was blue, I just thought it was cute, but really we will be happy with a boy or a girl. I am about 6 weeks along so I am guessing my due date is going to be end of November beginning of December. I will see a doctor end of this month to find out for sure.Our back yard..Is that some green I see?

That would describe how I feel about this health care bill that is going to be passed...And why is it being pushed so hard and fast into our face?? This has nothing to do with being conservative or liberal or the new term they are using (progressive). This has everything to do with just good common sense. Just tell me what government run program that is actually effective? I am being serious, please if there is something I do not understand then inform me please! Anyone who does not live in the United States will tell you what a nightmare it is going to a hospital in their country....why do we want the same thing?? So again please what am I missing here?? I know we always want to think that the big bad corporate America is out to get us and that the government will come in and save us, but that is just so not the case. The government is generally not looking out for your best interest. They are covering their behinds, and most of them are full of crap, on both sides democrat or republican.

Day to day

So anytime I get the kitchen aid out, Rachel comes over saying "sum sum sum". It is very cute, she has one serious sweet tooth:). Anyway I happened to capture the action this time around. She also will say "hmmmm hmmmm" after every bite of something she likes. We made a fort yesterday in the girls room, that kept them happy for hours!

The Girls

I just love these girls! Even if they are fighting 1/2 of the day:) At least they love each other for the other 1/2. A few updates....

Becca

- We went to DI the other day because I bought a coffee table to fix up, the worker loaded it up on top of the car for us. As we were leaving Becca says "He is such a nice dude"????

- The other night I was getting Becca ready for bed, and we were talking about the temple, I showed her a picture of the celestial room, she asked if she could go into that room! I said someday when your ready to get married you will. She then said "I am going to marry Dad??" I then said well no, she thought about that for a minute and she lit up and said "You mean I get to have a boy? Mom who is this boy"!!?

- I walked into the room the girls where playing in and it smelled like a poopy diaper. I asked Rachel if she was in fact poopy? Becca piped up with a no mom it is just me I am pretty gassy!

Rachel

-Has suddenly fallen in love with WALL-E. One morning we were sitting up to eat breakfast, and she just started saying WA-E (her way), over and over again, and continues to.

-She has moved to a big girl bed, and loves it. As I was singing songs to her one night, she would put her hands up to my mouth and say "NO" to any song I tried to sing to her, I was about to give up singing. She then looked up at me with a big grin and said "WA-E" so I asked her if she wanted me to sing the WALL-E song she then said "Yesh". I just started kinda making up a song and said whatever came to mind, but she seemed happy enough:).

- She loves to empty the dishwasher with me, and will come running over every time saying "heps heps heps heps" (Helps). She then grabs her little chair and puts it right up to the dishwasher, and hands me everything out of it.

A few updates.....

So we moved into our new home, and we love this house! This house has so many windows, it always feels light and bright inside:). It is slowly coming together, and there is still a lot I can't wait to do! I think I want to paint so I have not put anything up on the walls yet stuff like that blah blah.... Here is a little update on the girls as well, and then to follow will be a few before and after pics of the house!

Becca

- "my vitamins are pink and delicious"
- Talking to my mom on the phone the other day.."I love you Nana, and mom and dad and Rachel and Pink and blue".
- I was decorating last night, and I was trying to fix a pillow and Becca said "Mom...I don't love that pillow".
- Still loves to sing, and talks from sun up to sun down...I really don't think she stops moving her mouth all day long :).
- I brought a movie home the other day and she said "Oh mom thank you! That movie is so my favorite!"
- When she thinks she might be in trouble she will look at you in the eyes and say "mom I just love you so much". How could you possibly stay mad when that is said??

Rachel

- Says the word "poop" all day long.... I don't know why this is, but she likes that word.
- She screams to get what she wants, and refuses to talk...time-outs have been introduced into her little world.
- She got these little Cinderella figures for her birthday that she loves! They go with her everywhere along with a tinker bell costume she got.
- One of her other favorite past times is to scowl, and she does it so well!
- She still loves to be held all the time, and wants your full attention...I keep thinking she needs a younger sibling...:).
- She loves you to sing to her (if it is the right song that is). I love to sing to her at night and rock her. She will cuddle into my chest and sing with me, and my heart just melts!
