We had a great Christmas, it was our first Christmas that Nathan, Becca, and I spent with just the three of us. On Christmas Eve we had a crab leg dinner! Then Nathan read the bible story, we sang some Christmas songs, then opened Pj's! We loaded up in the car and drove around our neighborhood to look at Christmas lights. We had a big snow fall that evening that really made it feel like Christmas. That night Nathan and I put together Rebeccas kitchen that we were so excited to give her, then we watched Christmas Vacation. On Christmas day we woke up had a fun breakfast and opened up Gifts! It took a minute before it clicked with Becca that the Kitchen was for her to play with, but once it finally set in she was pretty excited about it. That day we made some Sugar cookies, and went to the hospital to visit Leslie (my mother in-law) She had to have surgery a few days before :(. Then we went over to the Critchfield family party (Nathans moms side of the family). And wait theres more! So my dad has been over is Saudi Arabia filming an Imax movie, he got home late Christmas night. So on the 26th my mom, dad, and brother Alex came up to celebrate Christmas with us:) So we got to have 2 Christmas days! Lots of fun, I think I would do it that way every year from now on if I had it my way. Anywho I am done now, hope all of you had a great Christmas and a Happy New Year! I am excited because that means it is closer to the time our baby Girl will get here!
First off I am sorry about other tags that I forgot to do, I am actually going to attempt it this time. Rachelle says I need to write 7 random things about me :) Yea!
1. I am very random, if I decide I want to do something whether it's one day I wake up and think to myself I want to cut me hair, or paint my whole house another color I do it that day. (drives Nathan a little crazy sometimes:)
2. I love Rebecca's little smells! Even down to here stinky diapers (I am so weird). I use to go in her room at night and just sit there and take in her wonderful smell!
3. I am a freak! I am the one that shuts down the house at night because Nathan is usually sound asleep before 10 O'Clock! I check all the doors, and windows at least 3 times, and then check on Becca another 3 times before I go to bed at night. Also I still have to sleep with a light on because I get scared!
4. I drive the speed limit. If any of you knew me before I was married or had a child I was a crazy driver! Now I am always telling Nathan to slow down, drive safe and wear a seat Belt! I am super paranoid of getting a ticket, or hitting a dear! I am totally blind at night, and will not drive unless I have to.
5. I really don't like folding Laundry! Hate is a better word to describe what I feel for it. I really don't know why because once I finally do it I feel pretty good about myself. I let at least 3 loads go unfolded before I finally make myself do it!
6. We are a totally crude family. I am really starting to notice that now because Becca repeats all that we say. The other day when she let one slip and said "FART" I thought to myself maybe we need to use some other words. Now she calls them Bum Bombs (don't know if thats any better, but Nathan was the creative genies behind that one).
7. I am Happy when it is Cloudy and stormy outside! If it is sunny my mood is not nearly as good. Yes I know I am very weird! I love Snow, Rain all that comes with storm :) Unless we are on a vacation in a warm place then I like the sun.
I know it said Seven but I just want to add I LOVE BEING A MOM! And I love being married (although it took me a while to love being married ;) love you Nathan. Me and Nathan really get into Homes! we love to sit and talk about all that we want in our house, and would love to renovate one someday! We like to go drive around Salt lake and check out all of the cute places. He has about as much as an opinion about decorating as I do! Ok now for all of you who are to be TAGGED! Ok so I was sitting at home today thinking about thanksgiving, and going over my recipes. I was thinking about what it is I love most about Thanksgiving, and here is what I came up with1. The satisfaction that comes from preparing a meal from scratch, and getting to smell all the great things you made baking in the oven. 2. Having friends and family over to eat the food you made, and having no real schedule for the day. 3. After having stuffed your self till you can't possibly eat another bite, then taking a nap!4. Cranberries! Turkey! how often do you really get to have these items (lets face it a turkey sandwich does not count).5. Tradition, I love traditions! last year was the first year I made our thanksgiving dinner, and this year I am hoping the turkey actually turns out. But I love being able to be at home, and whoever wants to come can.6. Charlie Brown thanksgiving. We have the holiday collections of Charlie Brown, and I love it when we get to pull it out this time of year. Becca loves them, and they remind me of her. 7. One memory I have growing up, was that early on thanksgiving morning my mom would be up preparing the turkey, and I always wanted to be up in time to help, and she would let me. I loved watching her make everything.8. Tyler Florence on Food Network! He is pretty much awesome, I am using all of his thanksgiving recipes.SO now here are a few things I am thankful for1. My Nathan, and Rebecca I serioulsy love them so much! I don't know how i lived my life before without them honestly. 2. A home to live in, to know that Rebecca has a safe roof over her head, and that nathan is able to go to work to provide money for our family is such a blessing!3. HEAT! up here in Midway especially it gets so cold, It is so amazing that we can flip a switch that will heat your home up.4. Being able to stay at home with Becca. I can't stand the thought of not being able to watch over and grow up with her. Thank you again Nathan! I love you5. Family and friends, I really like to be around you people.6. Being pregnant again! I know that sounds weird but I hear about so many women lately who can't get pregnant. I think the recent stats on that is about 1 out of every 3 women with have fertility problems. So I feel very blessed.7. The Gospel, and having the knowledge that I can be with my little fam forever if I endure to the end. Becca knows how to really throw a fit like most 2 years olds, but today I had to take a picture in mid action! She woke up from her nap saying "Outside, coat, ok!" So she goes to her closet to get her coat, gets it on, and says "dad, outside". I had to brake the news to her that dad wasn't home yet, so the fit followed after that. But still an hour later she had her coat on waiting for dad to come home (such a sweetie). She finally took it off, and decided to eat some lunch.
So yesterday was Beccas first time to really go Trick or Treating! It was so funny, the first door we went to no one was there, and she did not want to leave, the second door they just left the bowl of candy out so Becca took one candy then kept going back until she had three! There were a few scary doors we went to, one was so scary that she dropped the sucker she had been eating and ran the other way! When we got home she had a lot of fun answering the door to see the other trick or treaters, and one of them was her Nana Neibaur. Hope all of you had a good Halloween! Love the Lords!
We had a Halloween Party with some friends last night. Batman, and Becca the Octopus showed up at our door wanting to join in on the fun. Ethan (Batman) is Taryn & Travis's little dude. As you can see Becca found a new best friend here (Liz) who is in the picture with her, she would not let Liz out of her sight. The two little munchkins partied hard until about 7 o'clock :). Becca kept on sneaking out of her crib that night, she was still wanting to have some more fun (she truly has become a two year old). We had a fun night, just wanted to share these cute photos!
Ok so it might not look like much to some of you, but to me this was a big deal! I tried today to put Beccas hair in pig tails and it actually worked. I am not a hairstylist (as you can tell) but give me some credit ok. Anyway this was a big moment I just had to share hope you enjoy!
So we had Nanna and Grandpa Lord over for dinner tonight, and after dinner we watched "Simpsons Halloween". Becca wasn't sure what to make of the movie, as you can tell by the look on her face. However, after it was over Becca seemed to be happy enough to stall and wanted to watch another episode so she wouldn't have to go to bed (such a cute little stinker she is, but she got her way:)!
