School started....a while ago

I can't believe how much I have let slip through my fingers. I have so much to write down, so that it will not be forgotten, however so much has been forgotten already. Such a tragedy really, my little girls won't always be my little girls. They keep growing up so fast.

Both Beck and Rachel are attending a school close to Midway this year. We are in the process of buying a home in Midway, and will hopefully close on it this week! It is a charter school, and a very unique one at that. So far they seem to be loving it. Becca is in second grade this year, and Rachel started kindergarten. Can't believe it. They both really seem to love their teachers, which is great.

It has been a crazy few years for us. We sold our home in Holladay last year. From there we moved in with Nathan's parents. We lived with them for close to a year, then we moved up to my parents home for about a month because the girls started school and we needed to be closer to it. Then we moved into a town home in Park City for a few months. Nathan's friend Dave Hunt owns the town home in PC and was generous enough to let us crash there. All the while we have been trying to close on a home we want to buy in Midway. We originally wanted to build in the neighborhood we are buying in. But buying an existing home was the best option for us. So the process to buy our home has bee tedious and long, but I think there is finally light at the end of the tunnel. We are so excited to finally have a place of our own again. However, we have felt extremely thankful for our parents and friends who have been so generous to our little family. It's not easy having other people come crash in your home, words can not express how grateful we are to them for letting us.

We have been really been enjoying the cooler weather. It is usually 15-20 degrees cooler here then in the valley. I love cold weather. My parents have a perfect sledding hill located right in the back yard of the home they are in. The girls can't seem to get enough outside time. I love it. Next week they start cross country skiing as part of their schools PE program. I'm so excited for them to experience that. Yesterday when I was picking the girls up from school, I could not get over how beautiful it was outside. Their school in sitting on some amazing property. Pine trees and ski trails everywhere nestled right up against the mountains. I could see people skiing, deer prancing in the snow, kids were sledding, trees heavily frosted in snow.......it seemed kind of unreal, like you looking at the back lot of a movie set. I'm not exaggerating in the slightest, or making it out to seem more fabulous then it really is. It just simply is that amazing.

A few pictures...so I can start to get caught up.

Livy turned three years old! Can't believe it.

We celebrated Nathan's birthday on Thanksgiving this year.

Becca's baptism

I really can't believe this day has come and almost gone. Becca chose to get baptized and we could not be more proud and humbled by this remarkable little person. Becca has always been a very special spirit in our home. When she was just an infant we could tell there was a very mature and thoughtful little person in that small body of hers. She has always been one to make good choices, and loves to be the leader of anything she is taking part of. Today she was very reflective and thoughtful about what was taking place. We had a small intimate experience with her baptismal day, just a few family members.....It was perfect. It felt so peaceful in that little room, such a wonderful experience. Goodbyes and many thanks were said to family after the brief ceremony, we then took just our little Becca Lou out on a lunch date. We bought her a gift to open on our date. Her gift consisted of scriptures with her name on it, her own hymn book and a scripture bag. She absolutely loved it. We talked about her day, and about what was going on in that little brain of hers :-) It is an absolute honer to be Rebecca's parents. We learn a lot from her. Love you Beck.

Love mom

Fall

I know I have a lot to catch up on, but for now and for this post I just want to remember the evening I shared with my three darling girls. And more then anything I just want to get in the habit of blogging again so that I can remember these moments in life.

Everyday Tuesday and Thursday after school Becca has French class. I load up Rachel and Olivia and we make the drive from Park City into Midway (a gorgeous drive) Tonight we arrived 15 minutes early, so we decided to get out and stretch our legs while we waited for Beck. Becca and Rachel's school is tucked right up by the mountain side, and fall is in full swing here. The mountains are stunning to say the least. This evening was a bit chilly, and overcast. Kids were running around enjoying the playground, Livy and Rachel joined in on their fun. I sat there watching my darling, darling, girls run, laugh and play. As I watched them I was hit with this overwhelming feeling that this will not last forever. The memories from tonight will be treasured, and cherished. As will so many others. I only captured one picture from the evening. Which evokes strong feelings from the nights events for me.

Summer

I'm not even sure where to begin when I left off back in April. I think I can start off by honestly saying what a great summer we are having.

I was so worried at the start of June. I knew having all three girls home would be hard. I was especially worried because I have basically been a single mother for the past few months. Nathan has been away a lot for work, and working late. There have been a lot of melt downs, and just plain hard days...but there have also been some really great days.

Despite my worries It has been fun hanging out with my three little girls this Summer. We have done a lot of swimming, and made too many snow cone stops. We have been hanging out a lot in the Park City area (I love it there) we have made some memorable visits to my favorite big white barn in PC. We hit up the farmers markets, and the canyon for a hot dog roast. We have eaten plenty of gluten filled donuts while Nathan has been away :-) We even made it to the alpine slide several times, and have had some nice summer evenings. I have enjoyed the amazing summer storms that roll in....I LOVE STORMS!

I can't believe it is August 1st? This Summer has flown by so quickly. I'm not ready to have the girls back in school, and I so thought I would be by now. We still have a few more things to check off our Summer bucket list. What a pleasure it is to be a mom. To hang with these girls can sometimes be downright hard, but mostly rewarding, and amazing. I love hearing their funny conversations. I love when Rachel will ask Becca a question, and Becca beams with pride in explaining her answer back. I love hearing Livy singing to herself while she contently plays with her little toys. I love them so much. I have loved this Summer with them. I am thankful to be their mom.

Jaws summer movie night
My very blonde hair for the summer :)
At an amazing toy store in The Rivers Woods provo area.
The Park City home we have been staying at.
At the planetarium with my favorite people.
We tried to take pictures at the photo booth. Rachel was getting mad at Becca for her for "big forehead" being in the way! I died laughing!

Nine years of marriage

Nathan and I celebrated our 9th anniversary last month. When we woke up the morning of, the girls had a sign out and made some cards for us. They are so dang cute!! I'm so thankful to have a guy like Nathan who is so good to us. I can't believe we have been married nine years and have three kids. Where does the time go?

Friday night family night

A few months back we decided to make Friday night a time to do something fun together as a family. Pizza is always involved, with a movie or an evening at the park, something along those lines. The girls really look forward to Friday nights together which is the goal in all of this, really.
